About Stijn Bijnens

Today, I am CEO of Cegeka Group NV, a family-owned IT Solutions Provider with a revenue of 774 mio EUR, 5500+ employees, headquarters in Hasselt (BE) and offices in 11 European countries (figures 2021). At Cegeka we help businesses, organizations and cities create frictionless and personalized digital experiences for their customers, consumers and citizens.

Prior to that, I was CEO of LRM NV, VP Security Solutions at Verizon Business, Senior VP at Cybertrust Inc, Founder and CEO of Verizon, Lecturer at the Computer Science Dept at Trinity College (Ireland), and PhD Researcher at the Dept of Computer Science at KULeuven. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science at KULeuven.

Interests include emerging technologies and their integration into business models. I am a big believer in ‘the trinity of innovation’ – 5G, AI and hybrid cloud - as the game-changer for the next decade, and containerization as a paradigm shift in software engineering. Also: cyber security and risk management, the triple helix model on innovation and coaching young entrepreneurs.
