Within our Applications department, we are looking for an Enterprise Architect to work under the motto: In Close Cooperation! Are you passionate about designing the architecture of complex applications? Do you thrive in the intensity of iterative software development?   • You define and oversee large software projects/programs (3 or more scrum teams) and design their architecture.
  • Together with the client, you assess the business and strategic application landscape.
  • You define software development projects in collaboration with the client, taking strategic and business needs into account. Your focus is on the IT roadmap, strategy, and more.
  • Within Cegeka, you are a sounding board for project teams, programs, and management. In addition to your main project, you take on an overarching role, sharing your vision, offering support, and providing advice.
  • You make and justify technical decisions with rational arguments. While leveraging proven technology stacks, you ensure future-proof initiatives by introducing and fostering innovation.
  • You introduce innovative ideas within the organization and ensure they are shared with other teams.
  • In this central role, you also act as a people manager: coaching, evaluating team members, and actively engaging in talent management.
  • You play a prominent role in client and business interactions. Communicating with C-level executives and business stakeholders involves complex and challenging discussions that energize you.

What you need to succeed:

  • Extensive experience with professional enterprise Java is a must!
  • You bring a wealth of techniques to identify and define functional and non-functional objectives for an application.
  • You can design the architecture of complex applications, considering all non-functional requirements such as security, performance, and scalability, and communicate this to multiple teams.
  • Your expertise allows you to identify technical risks, assess their impact and probability, and develop a risk mitigation plan.
  • You have a broad understanding of web and database technologies, communication protocols, integration techniques, distributed systems, DevOps, security, etc.
  • Excellent operational knowledge of network management, system administration, cloud, etc., is also required.
  • You have experience with or an interest in cloud-native architectures.
  • You are familiar with concepts like OOP, design patterns, domain-driven design, refactoring, and unit testing, though applying them yourself is not a requirement.
  • Scrum and eXtreme Programming are Agile development methodologies you are comfortable with and know how to apply effectively.
  • You thrive in the result-oriented, no-nonsense approach of a growing company like Cegeka.
  • You possess strong communication skills, both within your team and with clients, and you can convey your ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, are not afraid of challenging conversations, and stand by your position.
