QA Expert

We are looking for a QA Expert at Cegeka. Then you can apply for this vacancy and maybe you will soon join our team as a QA Expert for 1 of our largest customers.   As a QA expert you work within an agile development team and act as a guardian of quality throughout the development process. You ensure a well-thought-out testing approach and monitor its implementation. You are in close contact with various stakeholders with a constant focus on delivering quality software to our end customer. In case of critical defects, as backup to the service manager, you act as a point of contact for the customer and communicate in a clear and understandable way.

• You do an initial validation of new requirements and ask critical questions on how we can test them in a later phase.
• You actively participate in a refinement where you, together with other members of the team, identify scenarios belonging to the customer's requirements.
• You document test cases based on the output of the refinements.
• You are actively involved in the review process of automated tests written primarily by the developers.
• You perform different types of tests on changes in our software, always keeping in mind the necessary priorities.
• You have an active role in releasing new software on the production environment.
• You are involved in dealing with incidents so that we can identify the necessary “problem areas” in our software so that E2E testing can be adjusted accordingly.
• You dare to ask critical questions when finding similar defects in our software.
• You provide correct and quick feedback to the team so that we can bring bug fixes and new functionalities to production as quickly as possible and in a quality manner.
• You regularly suggest areas for improvement in terms of functional quality and the testing process in the team.
• You are the back up of the service manager and communicate important updates related to critical incidents to the customer.
• You keep yourself up to date of certain evolutions within QA engineering.

• You already have several years of experience in quality assurance and testing in agile software development.
• You have thorough knowledge of software testing methodologies, test planning, test case design and execution. Knowledge of tools such as Postman & Swagger is a plus.
• You have a proactive attitude and actively seek improvements in the testing process.  
• You have strong communication skills, both to the team and various stakeholders.
• You have problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to handle complex technical challenges.
• You have an eye for detail and a systematic approach to software testing.
• You can work independently as well as contribute effectively to team efforts.
• You can adapt in a rapidly changing IT environment.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English (the team consists of employees from different European countries).
• You can set the necessary priorities.  
• You can work fluently with Azure DevOps or other reporting tools (e.g. Jira).  
• You work 2 to 3 days a week with your colleagues at the office in Hasselt (Corda Campus), combined with working from home. 1 or 2 days per month you will be on site at the customer in Maastricht.
