Belgian wood distributor and consulting firm Eurabo has been using Microsoft Navision for many years. To support its digital growth, the company upgraded to Microsoft Business Central and accelerated their digital activities, including a web shop. Here’s how it went down.
“Eurabo is a unique combination of a consulting firm and a distributor of ecological wood”, says CEO Peter Suys. “We focus on wood constructions and natural materials for low-energy buildings. We started out with Microsoft Navision and kept upgrading throughout the years. Last year, we decided to make the jump from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Microsoft Business Central with the help of Cegeka.”
“We always start from the customer experience”, explains management consultant Tim Bertens. “We draw out a long-term digital roadmap to be able to tackle any challenge in the future and improve the customer experience. This exercise is done yearly so we’re continuously working on digitization.”
“Eurabo presented us their roadmap and challenges in 2020”, says Cegeka account manager Hilde De Moor. “We decided that the first step to realize this roadmap was moving to the cloud, so they would always be up-to-date and have the right foundation to accomplish their digital roadmap.”
The upgrade also meant an accelerated digitization for Eurabo. “Moving to the cloud has many advantages”, says Peter. “The first big one is that Business Central is always up to date. This allows us to find the right solutions for any challenges we face, without having to go through a new upgrade. Another big advantage? We don’t have to host the environment on our own servers anymore. No more logging in with a VPN, Business Central is available whenever, wherever”.
Ease of integration was another important factor for Eurabo. They already had a custom-built web shop, which they integrated entirely in Business Central with minimal downtime. “We also invest a lot in customer service and marketing, for which we have dedicated tools that are now also integrated within Business Central”, Peter explains.

“We aim to create a fully digital experience for our clients. And internally, we try to work as digitally as possible too. For instance, we use a niche tool for document capture which makes our daily work more efficient. That’s how we can support our continuing digitization: we can easily plug in existing and new tools into the Business Central environment. We’re rolling out a project right now to digitize our purchase and stock management as well. It’s a separate module, but it integrates with Business Central seamlessly.”
The upgrade to Business Central makes Eurabo futureproof for any innovation projects. “In short: we keep working more efficiently and we’re constantly improving the customer experience. And Cegeka is a very strong partner in our quest. We meet up with them weekly”, Peter explains. “Not only are we continuously up to date now, we can also answer questions of our employees quickly and correctly. Cegeka is a dedicated partner. We’re clear about the expectations and possibilities, which makes this a very successful cooperation.
