We know, especially in ICT, it's been predominantly male based for quite some time. We're working on changing that by inspiring more women to work in IT, and to ensure female employees have equal opportunities to grow and advance their careers.
Basically, we want everyone, no matter who they are, to have fair opportunities. So, we're going to share the actions we're taking, both big picture and right here in our offices.
How we’re moving DEI from policy to practice
We have a global DEI policy and are developing e-learning to help everyone understand the guidelines we adhere to. In order to close the gap between intention and reality, we train our recruiters and HR Business Partners to mitigate bias in hiring and ensure fair and calibrated evaluations. We gather feedback through our annual engagement survey and have defined DEI metrics to track progress.
What we’re doing locally
Beyond guidelines and process improvements, our local teams are taking great initiatives to support gender equality in their communities. For example:
- In Belgium, we’re backing RWDM Girls, an inclusive football club that helps young girls get into sports and STEM, and we sponsor KRC Genk Ladies to promote equal opportunities in sports.
- In the Netherlands, Cegeka women are taking part in events like the European Women in Tech Conference.
- In Romania, we celebrate women with a Sweet Spring event, including Mărțișor charms (March amulets, symbols of renewal and appreciation) and a fun DIY Terrarium Workshop (creative and relaxing space to connect and unwind).
- In Moldova & Greece, we give self-care gifts to show appreciation.
- In Germany, we’ve created an internal women’s network and work with schools to inspire girls to explore tech careers.
- In Austria, we support #thenewITgirls to break stereotypes in IT.
- In the UK, we organized a 10-mile hike to celebrate and appreciate the women at Cegeka.
- In India, we collaborate with an organization that provides skills training to destitute women, and we support them by providing tools and machines to help them earn a living.
- In the US, we support Go Red for Women, an organization raising awareness about heart disease in women.
We are proud of what we’ve done so far, but this is just the beginning. Let’s keep creating an inclusive workplace together and drive positive change, one step at a time.
