ATHENS, GREECE - Cegeka, the Global ICT group with HQ in Belgium, announced today the opening of its newest office in the heart of Greece's capital city, Athens. The new office currently serves as the home base for 50 employees of Cegeka's Global Delivery Center, with plans to double its workforce to 100 by the end of the year. The office was officially inaugurated on Wednesday with a celebratory event. The opening took place in the presence of the Belgian Ambassador to Greece and the economic and commercial representative of the Belgian Embassy.
"This strategic move to expand our customer service teams into Greece was a deliberate decision, based on the presence of skilled IT professionals, cultural alignment, and entrepreneurial spirit in the country," said Tom De Vos, Executive Vice President Global Delivery at Cegeka. "The establishment of our own office underscores our commitment to Greece and our belief in its future. We eagerly anticipate further fostering our collaboration with the talented workforce here and aim to grow our team to 100 employees by year's end, with the ambition of building a Greek team of 300 IT specialists, specializing in hybrid cloud, cyber security, digital workplace, observability, software engineering, etc., by 2026."
The investment in the Greek office aligns with Cegeka's vision for future growth. "There is a growing need to expand our capacity to assist clients in their ongoing digital transformation," said Stijn Bijnens, CEO of Cegeka. "We are confident that our expansion into Greece will gain for Cegeka greater flexibility and scalability, enabling us to better serve our clients across Europe." Our teams in Greece are part of the Global Delivery Center of Cegeka – together with teams in Romania, Moldova, Colombia and India -from where customers are serviced.
The opening of the Athens office solidifies Cegeka's presence in Greece, while simultaneously laying the groundwork for the next phase of expansion: the establishment of a second Greek location in Thessaloniki.
