Are you working with Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management? Be sure to read this update with the key developments in the latest release wave from Microsoft.
Supply Chain Management
For Supply Chain Management, there are two major updates we would like to highlight: the communication agent for automation and developments for planning optimization.
Automate procure-to-pay tasks with the communication agent* for suppliers
Is a large part of your purchasing process still manual? From follow-ups with suppliers, updating purchase orders, or managing change requests: all these tasks together take a lot of time. The communication agent* automates manual and repetitive tasks based on the rules you set as a user. Examples include:
- Automated emails asking a supplier about the status of a delayed order or reminding them to confirm a purchase order.
- Automatic analyses of incoming emails from suppliers regarding purchase orders. Depending on the content of the emails, you can set up automated tasks accordingly.
*Microsoft is revolutionizing business operations by introducing autonomous agents in Dynamics 365, helping organizations move from traditional, manual workflows to AI-driven processes. These agents are designed to simplify operations and deliver significant value across domains.
About the Supply Communications Agent: Supply chains are often complex and prone to disruptions. This agent autonomously tracks supplier performance, detects delays, and responds accordingly to reduce costly interruptions. It enables procurement teams to focus on strategic goals rather than reactive problem-solving.
Implement lean manufacturing, catch weight, and batch consumption
This new development for Planning Optimization helps streamline planning processes, reduce costs, and improve service levels through fast and accurate delivery plans. Planning Optimization now focuses on supporting:
- Lean manufacturing: maximizing value for customers while minimizing waste.
- Catch weight: a functionality to accurately measure and sell products based on their actual weight, mainly in the food industry.
- Batch consumption: managing material consumption in a way that allows for non-linear consumption rates based on production quantities.
Finance
This release wave also brings some great updates for Finance.
- XPA tool for planning: Microsoft's new XPA tool integrates financial planning with PowerBI, allowing you to enter relevant data directly into Dataverse. You can set up your own financial planning tool based on your needs.
- Document search using Copilot: it is now easier to find documents across different legal entities using natural language.
- New journal framework: many organizations use financial journals, such as the general journal, vendor/customer payment journals. The new framework addresses limitations such as general performance, global/multi company journals, reversing transactions, lack of a preview for posting, etc.
- New user security management: a set of advanced features providing system administrators with useful tools for role management, license auditing, improved audit trails, and version control, supported by some useful reports on license usage and violations.
- Various improvements for bank reconciliation: for faster processing of bank statements.
